Edward Lionel Holden 1
Research Notes: Edward Holden was in the navy, on his marriage certificate his residence was H.M.S. Hannibal, but that was not the reason he moved to Liverpool. After he left the navy they moved to Cornwall and he worked in the tin mines, after a while he left there and moved to liverpool to find work leaving my nan and 2 children in Cornwall. Apparently when he stopped sending money home, my nan packed up and went to Liverpool to find him(which I think was a brave thing to do in those days) I don't know the full story but she found him and they went on to have 2 more children of one was my mother. Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Private R.M. Edward married Emily Jane Wilkinson, daughter of Alfred Wilkinson and Emily Smith, on 15 Apr 1901 in Portsea, Hampshire, England.1 2 (Emily Jane Wilkinson was born on 23 Jan 1883 in Ash Near Sandwich, Kent, England 1 5 and died in 1969 in 16 August St, Bootle, Lancashire, England 1.) |
