PC at Bow Street, living at 28 Bow Street London when married then at 88 Belvedere Road, Lambeth Although born in 1870 his birth wasn't registered until 1890, when he probably joined the Metropolitan Police Family history has it that he was beaten up badly by some Canadian sailors during the First World War and was no longer able to continue as a policeman. He then became a commissionaire at one of the top London hotels.
