• Emigration: Portsmouth to New York City, 14 Jun 1832, Aldingbourne, Sussex, England. 3 George and Jane, his wife, and four children were part of a group of 38 residences of Aldingbourne who set sail from Portsmouth to New York City aboard the Brig Westmoreland out of Dundee in the spring of 1832, their fares were paid for by the Overseer's of the Poor. The Manifest list's a second family of 11 Southerton's in addition to Jane and her family

• Emigration: to New York City, USA on Brig Westmoreland aged 35, 14 Jun 1832, Aldingbourne, Sussex, England. 4 The parish of Aldingbourne paid the expenses for transport of 38 residents from Portsmouth, Sussex to New York City in the spring of 1832 at a total cost of 200 pounds. The cost of just the passage (not including food) was approximately 4.4 pounds per individual. The cost of the food and conveyance from Aldingbourne to the port of Portsmouth was also paid by the Overseers of the Poor for Aldingbourne.
